I don't have personal experience with 14000, but from the PICLIST I
remember that it has a couple of caveats.

But I have recently bought AD7707, nice little 16bit sigma-delta A/D
converter with SPI interface. Didn't test it yet, but I have lots of good
experience with very similar AD7715. Both chips by Analog Devices (just in
case :-).
