I was doing some PCB work (with EagleCAD) and did test prints on three 
different makes of printer (all color laser).  All of them needed scale 
adjustments to get the printed size to match the design.  

Since I had a large fine pitch connector on the board (25mil pin spacing X50), 
it was important to get the print right.  I used gerber files and an outside 
service for the final board, but it is still important to get the test prints 
right so that you can verify the hole placement.
