I know that they have a Linux version of the main software (I use it).

There is a library viewer (eaglelibvwr) that looked like it would help with
some of the library management issues. However, the version on the web site
is for Windows only.

With the main software, it takes several steps to copy a component from one
library to another. You have to open a library, copy the shape, close the
library, open the other library, start a new symbol, and then paste the
shape. Repeat for the PCB layout.

The reason that this comes up is that I usually need to edit the hole sizes to
match PCBExpress's preset list. If you edit the main libraries, then you
lose your changes when you upgrade. So I copy symbols/layouts into my own
library the and modify them to work with PCBExpress.

Are you saying that there is now a Linux version of the library viewer?
