I believe that things get a lot more difficult by the complete lack of
documentation, especially in the porting area. And when I mean documentation
I do not expect something like to GCC Internals manual but any information
that would be helpful to new developers. There are few ports for SDCC right
now but noone has ever wrote just a few thoughts about the process of
porting.

Of course no one is obliged to do it but it would be much more easier
for others to help and contribute code for the project (the SDCC project, I
haven't forgot that we are in gnupic-list!).

Well, if you tell me now, go write it on your own, I wouldn't because I
do not understand yet the basics, and I do not have the time to do it. But
if I contributed some code, I would put a .txt file somewhere the would give
an overview of the process.
