I have seen various device programmers on the net and wanted to get your
opinion on which one is liked the best.  I didn't know which one I would
be happier with.  My funds are limited and I am ok with building one. 
Preferably serial connection.  

Also any particular programmer you prefer over another. Use is with a
Linux box.
