Hi all,
I have just recently started to play with the
16F84. I built a noppp programmer and
aftertesting my first code on gpsim I downloaded
it to the PIC. Everythin worked fine and I was a
happy geezer.
I then downloaded another program which was
basically a much slower version of the first so
exactly the same size. It worked as well. I was
soooooo pleased with myself that I got my partnet
to show her!!!!!
Just to prove the point I went through the
semantics of re-programming the PIC and saw the
option to erase the PIC, which I thought I'd do.
Lo and behold the PIC odes not seem to work after
being re-programmed despite the noppp software
telling me that everything is OK. I spoke to a
colleague at work and was told that I would have
to set the right configuration. I edited my
source code with a valid configuration word (0FF3
) and the PIC still does not work.
In erasing the PIC have I got rid of something
else that needs to be re-programmed or does it
sound like I ahve merely broken the PIC somehow?
Hope you can help or at least point me to some
relevant literature. I've gone through the
microchip data sheet but can't seem to find
anything of any relevance.
Many thanks,
greadey.
