Hello I have Windows 9.....ehhh....just kidding just kidding. I run Suse
7.1 (horray!!!!!) and I have a Plustek 4831P scanner.
I have the sane-1.0.4-3 package installed and the plustek-0.40-17 module.
My system recognizes the scanner perfectly (so I didn't have any
problems with the installation) and it scans pretty well. But (there is
always one but(t) behind everything...hahahaha) when I scan color images
something strange happens with the colors. Do you know this effect in
some graphics programs (the colorize effect) where you can shift all the
RGB values towards one end of the spectrum? Well...thats what
happens...and all the colors shift to the Cyan (when speaking for the
CMY plane) so i end up with a pink sortof image.
When I scan greyscale or with lower depth settings it works fine.
Any ideas?
I will just paste some system settings that might help. By the way I am
also using a Cannon BJC-1000 and an Iomega Zip drive on the same
parallel port but I had this configuration for years with other Linux
distro's and even with the same one. I recently moved from Windows to ME
(and that's for good now) and this is the first time I noticed my
scanner behave in this way.
Ok...ere we go:
/etc/modules.conf
