I've tried the v0.44 on my hp2200c and the colours are looking fine on
the preview but are becoming way to dark on the final scan. This is
confirmed by looking at the histograms from xsane (preview) and gimp
(final). It seems that the amount of colour in the leftmost part of the
histogram decreases quit a bit from preview to final.

Moreover, I find the funny blue and magneta stripes on the left and
right side of the scan. I hope this can be of some help for future
development.
