Subject: More Canon N670U trouble under SuSE
From: Craig Cooper

I have followed suggestions regarding using ./configure --prefix=/usr
--sysconfdir=/etc and then created my usbscanner node, then set chgrp
and chmod permissions, then edited plustek.conf, but all to no avail.

My SuSE instructions say to edit the line in /etc/rc.config.d/usb.rc.
But this directory does not even exist on my machine, nor the file?!
(except under hotplug, and it is a very strange script, without the
line:

USB_DRIVERS="usb-keyboard mouse"

so I cannot add 'scanner' to it?!

Is this the only thing I am doing wrong?

My startup console shows the usb vendor id and product id, and says that
it is unclaimed by any module?!

help pls! email me direct at:

thanx in advance!
