Subject: Canon LiDE 20 stripes/low quality scan
From: Soeren Sonnenburg

Hi!

While I the scanner seems to work somehow with the recent 45-TEST
releases, the image quality is pretty poor compared to the one one gets
when using the windows drivers...

- there are vertical stripes
- the image seems to be a bit dizzy
- the resolution is way lower

I scanned 3 images, two under windows in 300dpi and 600dpi and one in
linux at 1200dpi (lower resolution is even worse).

The 300dpi image scanned with the windows drivers does still look way
better ...

Please have a look at

http://www.nn7.de/sane/linux-1200dpi.jpg

Any ideas what could be causing this ? I mean all the scanning process
just works fine except for the bad result.

Soeren.
