Hi Maria,
there are several points you might check:
Is the driver loaded?
Is the scanner enabled in /etc/sane.d/dll.conf?
Is there a /etc/sane.d/plustek.conf?
Is there a device called /dev/pt_drv?
Do you have read/write access to this device?
Check this and post your results.
