Try the following:
1. unload all lp, parport and pt_drv modules
(rmmod lp, rmmod pt_drv, rmmod parport_probe, rmmod parport_pc, rmmod parport)
2. remove printer cable from scanner (the one you plug into scanner and the
printer) - simply disconnect printer from scanner
3. modprobe pt_drv
now scanimage -L should work
if not - disconnect printer (it is not enough to turn printer off - you HAVE TO
remove the cable), reboot and try modprobe pt_drv and scanimage.
