Hi friends,
I have given up trying to make my LIDE 20 work and am currently
considering two alternatives: a.) I could wait until the sane stuff works
for LIDE 20, with the quality of the images comparable to that of vuescan.
b.) I could by a scanner for which the current sane version produces good
images, comparable in quality to those produced by vuescan.

So, my questions for you are: Is there something one can say as to when
the sane stuff can handle LIDE 20? What are not-too-expensive scanners for
which sane is already working?
