Hi,
I bought this scanner a while back thinking that Compaq would be
sure to have a driver. Silly me, I should have checked...

The scanner uses the 9832 chip with a Mitsumi SP35SP-7T motor,
similar I beleive to the stepper motor in the UMAX 2200.

I've added enough defs to plustek-devs.c to get it recognized and to
have simple controls but the motor is giving me problems. I have no
problem scanning or moving the sensor forwards, but it only goes
backwards when it wants to. There seems to be no rhyme or reason, it
just (usually) sits there and buzzes. I ran up Windows and it still
works fine under 98, so I don't think I've damaged the motor.

plustek-devs.c says, close to the end, to up the MCLK variable in
this case. I've run it at just about every variable between 1 and 24,
and no other MCLK goes that high. Is there anything else that springs
to mind that I can try?

    Thanks

Scott Burns
