Hello, I have a Canon LiDE20 scanner and use it with the plustek driver at my PC running Linux Suse 8.1 with sane 1.0.9. I'm new to Linux and so I#ve got no experience in programming or compiling. But with a little help form the usenet I suceeded in using the Canon with Xsane or Kooka. I also know, that the current plustek driver is a beta 0.45 version with annonced "poor picture quality". But I#d like to know what this "poor quality" meens. I see 2 problems with the pictures : - scanning "colour" documents create pictures that are much to red, i.e. white areas look "light red" - scanning "gray" documents create really gray (not red) pictures but they have horizontal black lines every few pixels Is this what you meen with "poor quality" ? Is it possible to reduce the red colour by defining any parameters ? Is anyone working at this driver and needs someone (me) to test it with the Canon LiDE20 ? Best regards U w e K o c h
