Hi,

the Plustek U16B is not supported by the Plustek backend. AFAIK the U16B
uses a GrandTech chipset which is supported by the gt68xx backend
from Henning Meier-Geinitz. 
Well what do we need so far:
send me the windoze firmware file of the scanner, should be somewhere
on your windoze installation and is maybe called ccd548.fw
I need the output from the proc-fs:
cat /proc/bus/usb/devices
What are the technical dates of the scanner...

With all of this Henning can might prepare some code to test and hopefully
the scanner will run soon. Our problem is that we have no test-devices 
so far...
