It seems to me that the default calibration area setting is incorrect for
HP2200c (as of sane 1.0.11). I can get almost perfect results when
posShadingY is set to 50 in plustek.conf instead of using driver's
built-in value which is 0. Some sample scans demonstrating this can be
found at http://linux.ee/~ville/hp2200c/
Also, default image offset leaves out about 1mm of usable scan area. As
a result, to get best scan results I had to modify following values in my
plustek.conf:
# for best calibration results and to get rid of vertical stripes:
option posShadingY 50
# to get full usable scan area:
option posOffY 9
