Hi,
I've just subscribed to the list to find answers to a problem I have.
I have a Plustek OpticPro 4831 scanner. I'm running RH7.3, with xsane
0.84 and plustek-backends 1.07.
When I scan anything at over about 100 dpi, the image often gets
scrambled. Whole blocks of the image appear in the wrong place, colours
get messed up and misaligned. Although strangely, the other night I
scanned something at 300 dpi and it worked fine. The problem is
particularly bad when the image has discontinuities.
I've also noticed that the first part of the scan is often fine, then
there will be just the slightest pause and from there on the rest of the
image is wrong.
It used to work fine, but this problem has been getting progressively
worse, it feels like.
I thought it was my scanner but it works fine under windoze, up to 1200
dpi according to the driver that came with it.
What's the problem? Is the software faulty? Is it insufficient RAM?
Any suggestions for a fix will be appreciated. Thanks.
