Subject: Re: Sane 1.0.7 and SuSE 8.0

Hi Gerhard,

I made it now with
sane-backends-1.0.11
sane-frontends-1.0.11
xsane-0.90

1. My scanner is working like before.
2. I don't have Xscanimage also Xsane is not working

xsane said that there is no /gtk-config

but it is installed in /usr/bin/gtk-config .

I installed

gtk 1.2.10-284
gtk-devel 1.2.10-284

During the compilation of sane-frontends-1.0.11 there where no messages of
mistakes. Normaly all must work but there is nothing.

----
karsten@linux:~> which xscanimage
karsten@linux:~> which scanimage
/usr/bin/scanimage
karsten@linux:~>
----

I realy don't know where is the mistake. There where no other
messages. Only that xsane is looking for gtk-config and than it stopped,
because it don't find gtk-config.

If I'm using OpenOffice for the scanning, I have a preview and can manage the
scanning very well.
I only have 2 resolutions
50dpe
300 dpi
nothing between.
Perhaps you can help me to bring in xscanimage and xsane

Can you give me a little help please?

thank you

Karsten Giesow
