Subject: scanimage: no SANE devices found
From: Uwe Bosse

On my SuSE 6.1 system I installed SANE 1.0.1 (by sane.rpm from SUSE 6.2
distribution) and then installed the plustek backend (from
plustek-sane-0_36_35.tar.gz ) as it is described in the file INSTALL.
After "make load" the lamp goes on. Thatīs nice! But "scanimage -l" is
answered by "no SANE devices found".

Unfortunately no manpage and no howto could help me. The module pt_drv
is correctly loaded. What is wrong?

I should mention, that no configure-script is found in /usr/lib/sane
(and in its subdirectories). So that the
CFLAGS="-g -O -Wall" ./configure
command could not be executed. Perhaps I have to do the Job "by hand"?
