Hello guys,

Before anything, I would like to salute you and thank you all for the
wonderfull contribution on the opensource community.

I am using FreeBSD 4.8-STABLE and I installed xsane from the ports
collection. This also installed sane-plustek backened. My scanner is
supported by sane-plustek and is reported as OP9636T/12000T . It is a
parallel port device, from Genius.

I installed the xsane port with a simple 'make install', and I rebooted
to make sure, but there is no scanner device detected. That sounds
pretty normal, considering what I found on the plustek website: that
parallel devices need a special kernel module to be loaded. And I only
found a linux version of the kernel module.

I was wondering if it is possible for me to use this scanner under
FreeBSD ? I really need it on FreeBSD :-).

	Thank you all for everything!

Best Regards,

Alin-Adrian Anton.
