Hi :-)

I have installed Plustek driver 0-41.5 (reported as 041-6?) over sane 
1.0.7 in Debian Woody and everything worked fine for many months. 
Regret, now, I have got problems: no contact with scanner. Everything is 
connected,  parallel port set IRQ7 0x378, kernel log finds something:
morda kernel: pt_drv0 9636T/12000T found on port 0x378

but later I could get only report: no device detected (-9008)

I have tried reinstallation of sane and and the driver, but no effect.
It is possible, perhaps something new is installed, even if I am not 
extreme fan of system tweaking.
Do you have any idea, where to start checking?
