Hi Uwe,
while using SANE 1.0.1 you have to install the source rpm of this
package
(it's on the last CD) there you'll find the SANE1.0.1 tarball which you
can use to follow the instructions in the INSTALL file.
The problem is, that you will have backend support from SANE1.0.3 on
and
earlier version MUST be recompiled.
