Subject: Not the best image quality with Epson Perfection 1250 Photo
From: Nadine Heymann

Dear all,

when scanning with my Perfection 1250 Photo I do get pretty acceptable
results!!! However, it is perceivable not the same quality as I get from the
epson software package I have installed on my win98 partition. That is the
colours don't match as good as with the epson package and by in large the
resulting images are also a bit too dark.

I already read that this was sometime already noticed to be a bug
(http://www.linuxhacker.org/cgi-bin/ezmlm-cgi/3/2149 || please
correct me if I am wrong). My question is if it would make sense to upgrade
to the latest (beta) release (of the backend) or if there is any other
opportunity to fix the problem (changing anythin in the plustek.conf of
copying any file from the windows configuration?).

I'm currently using the following on debian woody:
  deb: version:
libsane 1.0.12-4
libsane-dev 1.0.12-4
sane 1.0.11-2
sane-utils 1.0.12-4
xsane 0.91-4

I am grateful for any suggestions (and the superb work you do),

Jens (by way of Nadine Heymann)
