I tried it, but the scanner wasnt detected.
I went through all the documentations, compiled from
source and edited some conf files, but nothing
changed.
So I simply had to come back to the module method. 
I even tried to compile the module off the
sane-backends-1.0.13, but there were some errors
(conflicts with some structures) so I couldn't do that
either.
