Subject: CanoScan N 650U with FC1

Hi,
I recently upgraded from RH 8.0 to Fedora Core 1. I have the default
sane install (sane-backends 1.0.12-4). FC1 detected and configured to
use my CanoScan N650U just fine and does a fine job of scanning. I have
just one problem that I was wondering if anyone has seen before and how
to fix it if possible. I am not really sure just exactly what causes
this but it seems that if I use the scanner and then shut down the front
end, (Xsane) normally. If I use it again right away it seems to work but
if i wait several days to use it, when I try to do a preview scan or
scan, I get this error: "Error during read: Error during device I/O".
The Light come on but the scanner bar does not move. Reseting the
scanner or rebooting Fedora does not correct the problem. The only way
I have found to fix it is to boot into MS Windows and scanning then
rebooting into Fedora.
Thanks for any help,
Roger
