Thanks for the reply, Gerhard!  Adrian Bunk's "-2" backport collection[1] has
1.0.14 in it.  I installed that, and it's working fine again.  Thanks for
the tip, and the forthcoming patch!  If you need a guinea pig I'm happy to
apply and test a patch on the 1.0.15 Debian package.
