 I've got P12, and 0.38 driver, up'n runnin'.

Scanning is possible, but it is very common, that I get "Error during
read: Error during device I/O". It seems that results are better when I
lower resolution or scan smaller area. For example if I set scanning
area (in xscanimage) to 215mm x 124mm and 50dpi resolution I get good
result allmost every time. Heavy system load seems to affect too, so I
usually 'killall mpg123' and 'killall setiathome' before scanning.

I'm not expert in tuning Linux-box and my time is limited (but who has
too much time...) so I haven't tested it much. I think that my parport
settings are okay, but before I say I'm sure, I've got to RTFM ;)

And before I can give you more specific problem reports I have to compile
debug messages into the driver. I think that now it is pretty hard to say
what is wrong.

My parport-driver is compiled directly to kernel, and I use
sane 1.0.4. Kernel is 2.2.16.
