Here's where i think the problem is

[blah@localhost /]$ cp /home/blah/sane-1.0.1.tar.gz
/tmp/sane-1.0.1.tar.gz
[blah@localhost /]$ cp /home/blah/plustek-sane-0_37_24.tar.gz
/tmp/plustek-sane-0_38_24.tar.gz

[root@localhost /tmp]# tar xzf /tmp/sane-1.0.1.tar.gz

the next stept is to do this

:~ > cd dev/sane-1.0.1   <-but this doesn't exist

so i can't do this

:~/dev/sane-1.0.1 > tar xzf /tmp/plustek-sane-0_38_24.tar.gz

I think this is the problem but i don't have a solution.
