Gerhard, I am using Caldera Desktop e2.4 (linux-2.2.14/kernel) with a
OpticPro12000T scanner. I have an xscanimage under
Kbutton->Graphics->xscanimage. There is also a sane under /etc/sane.d,
but I don't know which a sane. I think it's a much older version.
Should I <rmdir sane>, <rmdir xscanimage> and then install Sane -1.04
backends and 1.04 frontends and then install 0_37_23.tar.gz?
The following is the error message I get when I click on the existing
'xscanimage'. Am I missing part of the gtk libraries I'll need to
download before I begin?
xscanimage: no devices available.
Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkmain.c: line 534 (gtk_main_qu != NULL'
failed.
