Hmmm... 

Maybe I did not get into it deep enough, but I usually work on an HP9000 HP-UX
machine, and often I had the problem, that some sources with automake did not
run out of the box and I could not understand, where to make some modifications,
like I could do in a normal Makefile.

How will this work on new platforms? Is this easier or harder?

But I definitely do not understand enough of this.
