As I remember my good old Atari ST started it's graphics at boot time and 
ended, as I shut it down. All other applications just used the GEM 
routines. The same for Mac. What's the problem? If I really want to 
shutdown the server I can do it from any console. But this would be of no 
use in any Handheld or Organizer.
