I have a similar question along these lines. I figured out how to do
the "gpm -R" trick to get the mouse working. But that causes real big
problems for X windows on my machine. If I start up gpm with the -R
option upon bootup, it seems that my mouse doesn't work at all in X.
If I restart gpm after X is running everything is fine until after I
run my SVGA microwindows application in virtual terminal 1. AFter I
quit the microwindows application and go back to virtual terminal 7
the mouse in X gets very confused. It's very hyperactive for a few
minutes then both the mouse and keyboard hang on me.
Does anybody have any secrets to getting "gpm -R" working nicely with
X.
thanks
