Yes, the nxkbd and nxscribble use the GrInjectKeyboard API that
allows them to inject virtual keystrokes into _any_ Nano-X application.

I don't know why the pty open is failing, it looks like it's an ARM 720
kernel issue, unless your /dev/pty* device file is missing.
