Hi, Tony,

	When I use ATI Mach64 display card, I encounter the same
	problem as yours.

	After I disable 'ATI Mach64 display support' in 'Console drivers'
	when 'make menuconfig' in Linux kernel, and enable
	'VESA VGA graphics console'. (Most display cards support VESA.)

	The problem was solved.
