I compiled it up a couple of years ago with no problems, IIRC. I can’t remember if
I built it for Linux framebuffer or X11. I’ll help you if you want to give it a spin,
I have a Pi at home should we need to debug something. You should start
with either of the Configs/config.linux* config files.
