I've just mailed Ben my font code for reading in a more compact font
format, and to load it in and render them. The format is a bit different
from the current BOGL font's, but it should be fairly easy to adapt. I
included a small utility to convert BDF fonts to it too. The format was
meant to be mostly easily mmap()'able :-)
Basically, it stores only the minimal number of bytes needed for each line
in a glyph, and doesn't limit font widths to 32 pixels.
If anyone wants to take a look at it, mail me. The archive is about 12kb,
and is mainly just a small GGI based test program. There's a few bugs
though, and I haven't really looked at it for a while.
