I have successfully built and run Microwindows with svgalib, X11 and
framebuffer. I use the Linpus 6.4 (but I think it is basically RedHat
6.2+CLE). The original kernel "has" framebufrfer" support built inside and I
can find the /de/fb0 in the system, but I never see the penguin when the
system boot and the framebuffer method for Microwindows never run. I think
the problem is still that the framebuffer is not supported correctly.
Anyway, I download the kernel 2.3.99 pre? and build it with frambuffer
support. I update the kernel (then I can see the penguin as I boot) and
retry the Microwindows with framebuffer, it works. You don't need to use the
kernel 2.3.99, just rebuild the kernel 2.2.14 with framebuffer support and
make sure you did see the penguin.

BTW, I also use ctl-alt-f? to switch to console and run Microwindows, but
the mouse cursor will have problem when I switch back to X window.

I didn't recompile the linux kernel since RedHat6.2/7.0 has that built
inside the kernel already. I did see the penguin on the top left corner.

Jackie
