Hi,
        I successfully installed microwindows (frame buffer) over the
linux kernel 2.4. I could see the penguin logo. But when we executed the
demos, the system hanged.

        Upon debugging I saw that the following code  in
drivers/SCR_FB.C that sets the TTY into graphics mode is hanging.

            if( ioctl( tty, KDSETMODE, KD_GRAPHICS) == -1) { ....}
The ioctl is not returning and the system hangs. We have a matrox G100
card and an Intel machine.
