Hi,
       This is because you haven't enabled the support for frame buffer in your kernel. If you are using Red Hat Linux goto /etc/lilo.conf and add VGA = ASK for the current kernel entry. Reboot the
system. When the prompt comes enter 0301 (VGA). You should see a small penguin. This means frame buffer support is enabled for your graphics card.

        To enable frame buffer support in microwindows, see that you make the config.fb as the current configuration file.

        If you are not using Red hat kernel, try building the linux kernel ( above 2.2 ) with the frame buffer support enabled. Edit lilo.conf as above.
