Is it technically possible to make a VNC server for Microwindows? I can see
a use for a system with just one "master" and have a whole pile of
"repeaters".

Has anyone ported a VNC server for RTEMS?

Greg:

I finally got a chance to look at vncserver again.

Here's a patch against cvs for fixing vncserver.

It works with the latest (0.7.2) version of libvncserver source from
libvncserver.sf.net.

Not thoroughly tested but works for me. Apparently GdOpenVNC and
GdCloseVNC need to be added to the nanox.h files but it compiles and
runs with the implicit declarations.

Thanks. Looks like the only changes are that the rfb structure
members have been renamed... is that the case?

Greg

Just about. There are also some commented out sections of code that
have been restored and one function prototype changed.... (That's what
gave me fits - the code was there, but commented out...)

But mostly just name changes. I had to make one change - the function
undrawCursor at the top of the vncserver file is a stub. I couldn't
quite figure out what it did, and it didn't seem to have any counterpart
in libvncserver, so I just made it into a stub. Just in case someone
finds it really is necessary.

Greg:

It looks like I totally missed the ChangeLog in the source...

The cursor stuff has been completely changed, eliminating UndrawCursor
and a few other things.

I think I need to revisit the patches I sent you; for now they work but
aren't as efficient and elegant as they should be.

The changes will take some time; I have to pull off and do a whole bunch
of other stuff first...
