EPP - is Enhanced Parallel Port ECP - is Extended Capabilities Port Your Mainboard should be able to support both Modes (besides the SPP mode - standard parallel port) You can adjust the mode used in your BIOS (commonly under Chipset Features Setup) Simply change it to EPP and let's see what the driver tells you then. I can use the same scanner with pxscan of this page (of Peter Popovec):

This pxscan work fine, but i need a GUI for this pxscan.
