primax: Thread: Problems with scannerdriver and VIA 82Cxxx Super IO parallel Port

Hi,

I had to upgrade my mainboard from a nice old BX Chipset to a
newer VIA 82C686 based one (ECS D6VAA).

Now I've several problems with the scanner drivers (both primax-scan
and px-backend):
    - when detecting the port type the system hangs for about 3-4 seconds
      (no mouse movement possible, keyboard Num-Lock has no effect)
    - preview scans look nice, but the higher the resolution I use for 
      scanning the image gets "out of sync" - parts are shifted to the
      left or right.

Is there anyone having also such problems? Any idea ?
