Hello,

I'm using pxscan v.04 by Gustaf Kroling with my D9600. It works fine.
How do I set the permissions up, so non-root users can use the scanner,
without setuid-ing pxscan?
I've tried various permissions on /dev/lp*, dev/parport/* etc. but it
didn't work out. I'm not familiar with routines used by pxscan to operate
on ports, neither. I'm using RH 8.0.

Thanks for any help.

P.S. BTW: pxscan 0.41 gives me blank or unuseable, very-low-contrast
images, sometimes it makes the drive go beyond it's area (loud noise), so
I've stopped using it and switched back to 0.4.
P.S.II I'm not subscribed to ####@####.#### so please CC me.

the program uses direct port IO (not via device files in /dev/) and to do
this you need root priviledges. sorry.
