Running usbview shows the scanner and cat of /proc/bus/usb/devices contains
the same info:

The scanner cover is marked "Plustek OpticPro U12" and it does function under
windoz.
I still haven't gotten xsane to recognize it and am continuing to stagger
through getting it going but I thought this information might be useful /
helpful.

In case it helps, this is a fresh Mandrake 8.2 installation on an AMD
Thunderbird 850 MHz with 640 Meg of ram and an nvidia TNT2 M64 video.
