plustek: Thread: Plustek 9630P

Hi Mr. Jaeger

Sorry I do not know you first name :)

I have a question in relation to the above scanner. I install sane and you
drive (over the net mind you) and every things works great.
The only thing I was not able to get working was the button on the front. My
friend would like this button to activate a photo copy like process.

Is it possible to connect a script to the pressing of this button ?
If so how ?
If not do you now of a script I would use on one of the screen consoles
which would do something like it ?

Hi Mike,

there's currently no support for the button. I have this feature
on my list. But this list is growing and currently I've only little
spare time for the driver.

	My apologies if these are repeat questions.

1. I have loaded the plustek backend and can now access my scanner,
however,whenever I reboot, the /dev/scanner/pt_drv.0 file is missing. I have
to make install and make load to getaccess to the scanner. How do I get
around this ?

2.  I am unable to scan more 15.08 cm in the y axis otherwise I get an error
reading device and get no image. How can I fix this ? Any helpwould be
appreciated.

Do a modprobe pt_drv in your boot.local file during startup to achive this.

It's a known Bug, please use the older 0.39-3 version.

We have just purchased a new computer with WindowsXP. Our Plustek 
scanner cannot be loaded into out computer. I am hoping to find an 
upgrade in the
installation software, but I don't know where to look. Any ideas?
