OpticPro4830P with SuSE 7.2 : insmod error
From: Frederick Klauschen ####@####.#### Date: 12 Nov 2002 14:48:31 -0000 Message-Id: <20021112144348.14126.qmail@web10103.mail.yahoo.com> Hi, I tried install the plustek-driver for my OpticPro4830P scanner, but I get an "insmod" error: This is what happens: reunion backend/plustek_driver# make load /sbin/modprobe pt_drv || exit 1 /lib/modules/2.4.4-4GB/misc/pt_drv.o: init_module: Success Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters /lib/modules/2.4.4-4GB/misc/pt_drv.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.4-4GB/misc/pt_drv.o failed /lib/modules/misc/pt_drv.o: insmod pt_drv failed make: *** [load] Error 1 I tried the following versions of the driver: plustek-module-0_41_5.tar.gz plustek-module-0_42_9.tar.gz plustek-sane-0_36_38.tar.gz plustek-sane-0_44_10.tar.gz all produced the same error. I made the changes in modules.conf as indicated in the instructions. My parallel port's address is: 0378-037a parport0 037b-037f parport0 so port=0x378 should be o.k., I guess. Could anyone help me?
