negative/slide backlight does not work Plustek OpticPro PT12
From: Motyle ####@####.#### Date: 4 Jan 2003 12:26:44 -0000 Message-Id: <200301041218.h04CIq621728@news.qnet.com.pl> I have Plustek OpticPro PT12 scanner. It works reasonably well (1) in the normal mode using Debian sarge, sane-1.0.7 (not modified) and plustek-module-0_41_5 with 2.4.19 kernel. But when I switch to transparency or negative mode both lights turn dark. Is there any trick to switch ON this backlight. I have not changed any settings in module options ( alias char-major-40 pt_drv pre-install pt_drv modprobe -k parport options pt_drv lampoff=180 warmup=15 port=0x378 lOffonEnd=1 mov=0 slowIO=0 \ forceMode=0 and also use all defaults in /etc/sane.d/plustek.conf The results are the same with plustek-module-0_42 _9 and sane-1.0.9 I am using xsane and xscanimage when testing. Best regards, -- Tomasz Motylewski (1) when the scanner starts the system is very slow - pt_drv blocks most of the CPU time. (2) when I use 2.4.17 kernel EPP mode is detected OK by parport_pc, but with 2.4.19 I get only PCSPP in /proc/sys/dev/parport/parport0/modes (Host bridge:[ALi] M1541, PCI bridge: [ALi] M1541, ISA bridge: [ALi] M1533 PCI to ISA Bridge [Aladdin IV]) (3) I have seen some OOPS messages with plustek-module-0_41_5 (when using transparency/negative mode). Should I investigate it further and report? cat /proc/pt_drv/device0/info Model : PT12 Portaddress : 0x378 Portmode : SPP (fast I/O, autodetect) Buttons : 0 Warmuptime : 15s Lamp timeout: 180s mov-switch : 0 I/O-delay : 1 CCD-Type : 3799 TPA : yes cat /proc/pt_drv/info Plustek Flatbed Scanner Driver version 0.42-10 Devices : 1 IOCTL-Version: 0x00000103 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The IEEE stuff should only be disabled if there are any problems... Gerhard On Saturday, 4. January 2003 13:00, Motyle wrote: > I have Plustek OpticPro PT12 scanner.
