Hello.
I'm very happy to use the plustek driver for my HP scanjet 2200c. As is
said in the man page, halftoning is poor. What are the dither tables
that are needed? Who have to provide them? And is there a way to provide
some help to that question?

Hi,

the halftoning is only used by the parport driver it has been
removed for the USB devices, as halftonig can be done by GIMP
or any other image manipulation program much better.
Halftoning is in fact a binary image, that has been obtained
from a gray-scale image by using a filter, which consists out
of a 8x8 array (the dither table). The different values inside
such an array vary and upon that variation the quality of the image
differs.... - it's just image processing which can be done much better
by any special program than by the backend itself.

Cheers
  Gerhard
