A friend mentioned http://ktechlab.org/ to me recently.  When I asked
about if it supported multiple PICs he said it used gpsim under the
covers and could cope with more than one.  I suspect he's mistaken,
although running multiple gpsim's and trying to get them to coordinate
is how I intended to workaround it.  Anyway, I thought it worth a
mention.
